Web Hosting Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ)
Q. How soon will my web hosting account be
set up and ready for use?
A. All web hosting accounts are set up
within 6 hours (mostly within an hour)! Once a web site hosting
account is set up an activation notice will be sent you via
e-mail including a username, password, and IP address.Although
it takes dns 24-72 hours to propagate so that your site can
be seen on the web, you can begin uploading files to your new
web site immediately thereafter using FTP. We recommend WS_FTP
Q. What are your Nameservers?
A. Our web hosting nameservers are NS1.SKYSTHELIMITGRAHICS.COM
and NS2.SKYSTHELIMITGRAPHICS.COM .
Q. Can I upgrade my web hosting plan or web
hosting features later?
A. You can purchase new or expanded web site
hosting features or upgrade to a new web hosting plan at any
time. There are no set up fees for upgrading to a new web hosting
package.

web hosting network 24/7?
A. Yes, our web hosting network is monitored
on site and remotely. If something happens to your web site
or our servers our technicians will be checking on it immediately.
Q. Do I have 24/7 access to my web site hosting
account (s)?
A. Yes you do. All of our web hosting customers
have full access to their web hosting accounts every day, all
day.
Q. Do you offer tech support every day?
A. Yes, We offer 24/7 e-mail and phone support.
Q. I want to get started right away, but my
domain name hasn't
transferred or isn't in the database yet. How do I do it?
A. You can upload your page(s) immediately by
pointing your FTP client to the IP address, username and password you
were assigned when you opened your web hosting account. After your domain
is fully propagated through the system, you can upload to www.yourdomain.com.
Be sure to put all files in the /www directory.
Q. Do you host adult websites?
A. Yes, But it will require a special dedicated
web hosting server.
Q. How do I get my email?
A. If you're familiar with your email client's
setup, use the following information to retrieve email from your POP
account:
Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.yourdomain.com
You can have your email as yourname@yourdomain.com
Q. Do you accept any other forms of
payment besides credit card through pay pal?
A. Yes, we also accept either personal checks
or money orders. If you use these forms of payment, though, we ask that
you pay for six months in advance in order to avoid problems with late
payments.
Q. Will I be able to use your SSL certificate
or do I have to purchase my own?
A. You can use our SSL certificate, however, you will receive browser
warnings about the domain names not matching.
With our certificate you can use the secure URL
https://servername.phpwebhosting.com/~your_username/ - you may find
this fine for your particular use. However, if you want https://www.your_domain.com/
you will need to provide your own certificate.
For professional use, we suggest you purchase
your own certificate so visitors do not see warnings/errors when they
go to your secure pages.
Certificates can be from either a major CA or
you can provide a self-signed certificate (note that as with any self-signed
certificate you will receive warnings in most browsers).
Q. Do you support:
ImageMagick - yes.
Real Audio/Video streaming -Yes, though we prefer
you store these files on your account and transfer them through normal
http transfers.
Java and Java Applets - Yes
PHPLib - Yes, but you have to install your own
private copy.
WAP MIME types - Yes.
ASP - No, ASP is run on windows. PHP however
is very similar to (and many would argue superior to) ASP. See http://www.php.net/
for more information about php.
GIF/JPG files - Yes
IMAP - No (this refers to IMAP email - not image
maps on webpages. We fully support image maps).
Q. Do you support phpMyAdmin or have a web
interface for MySQL?
A. Yes, phpMyAdmin is installed in the user control
panel. You can use it to perform almost all needed operations on your
database.
Q. Are there any other general restrictions?
A. In general we do not allow web sites
whose primary purpose is file downloads or transfer. We must
have this restriction to ensure that all users receive fast,
dependable web hosting service. Transfer only web sites put
an undue burden on our web hosting servers.
The main point of our "metered" policy
is to allow us to have a friendly service where you do not need to always
be worried about incurring extra fees by going over pre-set limits.
Q. Do you have a web hosting reseller program?
A. Yes, we feel that are prices are low enough
to allow people to purchase multiple web hosting accounts and still
be able to resell them for a profit.
Q. When will you be upgrading to PHP4?
A. We already have! PHP4 is now installed on
all our servers!
Q. How long does it take to transfer a domain?
A. Once the domain name transfer has
been submitted, it can take anywhere from 24-72 hours. Usually
this is much closer to 24 hours. It usually depends on the time
that your request is received at your registrar (most only process
requests once a day).
Your domain name is set up immediately
on our servers. It is the timing at the registrar that will
determine how long it takes for the transfer to be "visible".
Q. Do you offer domain name parking?
A. We do not have any type of web site
hosting account for only domain parking. However if you have
an account with us, we do allow you to park one or two other
domain names at your account if needed. However the parked domain
names can only resolve to your top-level web directory. They
can not resolve to sub-directories (to do this would require
separate $6.95 accounts for each domain name).
Q. You say "unlimited" POP3 accounts.
How many can I really have?
A. A general limit would be 10 or 15. The main
limits are that you can not for instance set up a service where anybody
on the net can get a free POP3 through you, etc. The goal of the un-metered
POP3's is to allow you to set up however many are needed for your company,
group, etc. Like most of our other offerings, we do not want to place
any hard limits on the number of POP3's that you may create. However
we do ask that you keep your demands within reason. Also keep in mind
the number of messages that each account will be receiving each day.
For example, 50 POP3's that only receive a few messages a day would
be acceptable while 50 POP3's that each receive hundreds of messages
a day would not.
Q. What currency are your prices in?
A. Our prices are in United States Dollars.
Q. Do you support FrontPage?
A. Yes! After you sign-up for web site hosting,
enter a request for the frontpage extensions to be added to
your account.
Q. I tried to signup for web hosting but it
said my address did not match!?
A. Your web hosting order will not go
through unless your billing addresses matches exactly the one
that your credit card company has on file. When you sign-up
for web hosting your information is sent via an encrypted connection
to our credit card processor who then verifies your addresses.
If it does not match exactly the information that your credit
card company has on file the web hosting order is rejected.
Make sure you have it typed in exactly as they have it on file.
Q. I am a current customer but my billing
information has changed. How do I update my information?
A. Contact us Directly or if you used PayPal,
they will help you with this process.
Q. Do you offer phpMyAdmin for database administration?
A. Yes! phpMyAdmin comes pre-installed into your
control panel.
